Catherine J. Petersen is
an international consultant and principal of C J
Petersen & Associates, LLC. This consulting and
training practice is both national and international
in scope. Training is focused on international
commercial documentation and regulations and letters
of credit. Research is conducted on freight
transportation, both domestic and international.
Ms. Petersen has
written many published articles. She was a freight
forwarder and ocean carrier representative for 12
years, and has been active in the international area
since 1980. She holds both graduate and
undergraduate degrees (conferred in 1976 and 1974,
respectively) from Mankato State University in
Minnesota. She was licensed as a U.S. Customs House
Broker by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in
2005.

Brent WM. Primus
is currently C.E.O. of Primus Law Office, P.A. He
attended College at Lawrence University where he
majored in philosophy. Upon graduation from Lawrence
in 1968, Brent served two years with the American
Peace Corps as an agricultural extension agent in
rural India.
Over the years Brent has
represented clients in virtually all types of legal
matters. This has included the representation of the
shippers before the Interstate Commerce Commission
and the Courts in such leading decisions as United
Shipping v. General Mills, Wonderoast, Inc., and AVR,
Inc., et al v. Churchill Truck Lines, Inc., et al.
Brent was the recipient of the 1996 Transportation
Lawyer of the Year award presented by the
Transportation Consumer Protection.

George W. Thompson
is a Partner in the Washington, D. C. office of the
law firm Neville, Peterson LLP, where he specializes
in import and export regulation and transactions,
administrative practice, trade policy, and
litigation. He previously served as an attorney at
the U.S. International Trade Commission and the
Office of the United States Trade Representative.
He is a 1981 graduate of
Cornell Law School and graduated in 1978 from the
State University of New York. He has written many
published articles and lectured widely on
international trade topics. He is also an adjunct
professor in the Institute for International
Transactions at George Mason University in Virginia.
